Close Encounters of the Bird Kind

Week-long full day camps in July & August:

Exciting, fun, and safe hands-on experiences for kids of all ages. 

Learn all about birds of prey, and get an up-close and personal experience.

• Discover the world of hawks, eagles, owls and falcons. Exciting activities during the week will teach kids about how raptors survive in the wild, why they are so special, and how we can help them.  The emphasis is on the birds’ natural history and ecology, with lots of practice in identifying the birds up close.

• Learn about the best raptors for falconry.  Cover some of the basics of falconry equipment.  Be prepared to get mucky with some cleaning and scrubbing too!
• Learn about the birds’ daily care and management, try your hand making some jesses and swinging a lure, and of course, have some fun actually handling and even helping to fly a few of them.

Monday to Friday,  10.00-4.00 pm  

Kids bring a packed lunch each day       

Full Day Camps for ages 8 - 13    Cost: $260.00 + GST       Cash or cheque only, please.

July 21- 25 : Basic I Camp

August 11- 15: Basic I Camp

August 25- 29: Basic II Camp (For those who have attended Basic I, or have equivalent skills, and want to develop their knowledge)
